Bulgarian pianist scoops the Silver Key

Ludmil Angelov is this year's winner of the Silver Key (Tasto d'Argento) prize at the PianoEchos International Festival in Monferrato, Italy. He received the prize on Saturday, 8 September after his piano recital at the medieval Chiesa di San Nazario in Lu Monferrato, Piemonte.The ninth edition of the PianoEchos festival, receiving the most brilliant Italian and world pianists on a yearly basis, is ever so filled with the romantic and passionate Chopin's music, all credit going to the exclusive guest, whose guest-performance was on Saturday. Ludmil Angelov's magic fingers that gained him an iconic status mesmerized the audience in the church. The Varna-born Bulgarian pianist, deemed to be among the most brilliant interpreters of Chopin, feels at home in Monferrato and is always enthusiastic about taking part in the festival.The prize was established in 2005 and in the recent three years went to Italian performers.
